In light of Father’s Day this weekend, I found a couple great quotes to honor the man who raised me.

“Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.”

~Anonymous
“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

~Mark Twain, “Old Times on the Mississippi” Atlantic Monthly, 1874
Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby: “Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then, fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher’s mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again.”

“You need to overcome the tug of people against
you as you reach for high goals.”

George S. Patton (1885 – 1945)

I like this quote for the following reason: I truly believe that people who put you down only do so to keep you down with them. People hate the success of others as it makes them realize how unsuccessful they have become. Once you are able to see these people for who they really are, kindly ask them to leave. Only then will you be able to reach your highest potential in life.

“Far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even
though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor
spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much…”

1899, Theodore Roosevelt (1858 – 1919) US president (26th)

Being as Easter always represents true spring, I thought I would have the quote of the week feature poetry. It always seems to spring up on you. First the trees start to blossom and the daffodils pop up…before you can blink, summer is here.

“And in green underwood and cover/ Blossom by blossom the spring begins.”

Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837 – 1909) English poet, critic Atalanta in Calydon, Chorus, `When the Hounds of Spring’

I have decided to post a quote every Friday that I find inspiring or comical. Most will relate to luxury, real estate, and homes, but I am sure I will find that one that is so great I just can help but include! Enjoy!

Quote of the Week

“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief
requirements of life, when all that we need to make us
happy is something to be enthusiastic about.”

-Charles Kingsley (1819 – 1875) English clergyman, writer
